Blues eye Dindane

Lens striker Aruna Dindane, who has been on loan at Portsmouth this season, has emerged as a potential transfer target for Birmingham boss Alex McLeish. But sources close to City insist reports that a £4 million transfer has already been struck with Lens are premature and that any possible deal is a long way from being finalised. McLeish has made no secret of his desire to bring in a new forward before the transfer window closes and has been linked with a host of players. Ivory Coast international Dindane joined Portsmouth in August on a one-year deal and has scored four goals in 10 appearances for the Barclays Premier League strugglers. He began his career with Ivory Coast club ASEC Mimosas before moving to RSC Anderlecht in 2000 and then joined Lens in June 2005.
