Blues extend Wood loan deal

ew Zealand international Chris Wood's youth loan to Birmingham City from West Bromwich Albion has been extended until January 5.[LNB] The Kiwi has been a revelation at St Andrew's since his summer switch scoring eight goals in 11 appearances for the Blues and manager Chris Hughton has wasted no time in tying him down for the year.[LNB]An undisclosed fee has been paid to the Baggies to land the 19-year-old's services until the new year and the Kiwi told bcfc.com: "I'm very pleased the loan has been extended.[LNB]"I've settled in really well here and all of the lads - who are a great bunch - have really taken to me. We are beginning to gel as a team and as a squad and I think that's starting to show in our performances and results.[LNB]"I'm very pleased to have scored the goals that I have but it's only the start. Together we have to keep putting in the performances and picking up the results to move up the league."[LNB]Hughton said: "We are delighted the loan has been extended as it's one that has worked very well for the player and for the club."
