Blues boost rivals' coffers

Having secured promotion in their first season following relegation from the top flight, Blues' second year of parachute payments will now be shared out among the teams who will not already be handed such sums.[LNB]It is believed Blues were set to receive around £11.2million for the 2009/10 season, meaning the money Championship clubs were due to be handed in solidarity payments is to double to somewhere in the region of £1.1million.[LNB]This news will come as a much-needed boost to several clubs in the second tier currently struggling to make ends meet.[LNB]That money could again be further boosted later this month should Reading also secure an immediate return via the play-offs.[LNB]The teams exempt from receiving this money would be the three relegated teams from the Premier League this season, Derby and possibly Reading should they not also clinch promotion.[LNB][LNB]
