Blues appeal over Taylor dismissal

Taylor was dismissed following a challenge midway through the first half when he was adjudged to have up-ended Jamie Mackie in the penalty area, although video replays proved the incident occurred outside the area. The experienced goalkeeper was subsequently given his marching orders by referee Michael Oliver but the Blues are hopeful of appealing successfully. A club statement said: "Correspondence and DVD evidence has been sent to the FA following the incident in the 23rd minute of the game at St Andrew's, which saw the Pilgrims awarded a penalty and Taylor red-carded. "An FA regulatory commission will meet to discuss the claim on Wednesday afternoon and Blues have been told to expect a decision as soon as possible after that."
