Hamstring injury sidelines Birmingham winger David Cotterill

David Cotterill is sidelined for Birmingham when they face QPR as he continues to battle a hamstring issue.

The winger has missed Blues' last two games and while he was assessed by the Wales medics when he met up with the national squad he is unlikely to return this month.

"The medical team think that the best-case scenario is that he's going to be around the three-week mark and worst-case scenario it will be longer," Rowett told the club's official site.

Andrew Shinnie (hamstring) should be available and Demarai Gray (groin) is also expected to be fit after coming off late on in the 2-0 win over Leeds.

QPR remain without attacking duo Charlie Austin and Jamie Mackie.

Striker Austin faces another fortnight on the sidelines with a hamstring injury while a torn hamstring will keep winger Mackie out until December.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is therefore set to keep his place up front following his injury-time winner against Bolton before international break.

Boss Chris Ramsey could hand a first start to Sandro, who came off the bench against Wanderers, while fellow midfielder Ben Gladwin has been sent on loan to his former club Swindon.
