Birmingham midfielder Jon Toral suspended for visit of Preston

Jon Toral is suspended for Birmingham after his red card in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Burnley.

The midfielder was dismissed in stoppage time for a second yellow card and now faces a one-match ban.

Boss Gary Rowett has no new injury worries with Birmingham's season close to petering out as they sit 10 points behind the play-offs with four games left.

Neal Eardley is out with a serious knee injury and could have played his last game for the club with his contract up at the end of the campaign.

Preston could have Calum Woods available for the trip to the midlands.

The full-back was back running again at the weekend following a calf problem and North End boss Simon Grayson said there was a "strong possibility" he will return on Tuesday.

Skipper Tom Clarke (head) and striker Jordan Hugill (ankle) were unused substitutes on Saturday having only returned to training on Friday.

Jermaine Beckford will hope to retain his spot after scoring in his first start of the season against MK Dons, but Chris Humphrey (shin), Liam Grimshaw and Stevie May (both knee) will not feature again this term.
