Novak remains on the sidelines

Lee Novak is again likely to sit out when Birmingham play host to Nottingham Forest.

The striker was forced to miss last weekend's 2-0 victory at Bournemouth due to a leg injury and appears set to remain on the sidelines, with a return at Wigan on Boxing Day more likely.

Boss Lee Clark has no new injury or suspension concerns to contend with and could well stick with the same XI that extended the club's unbeaten run to six matches at Dean Court.

Mitch Hancox, David Murphy, Matt Green, Neal Eardley (all knee), Jonathan Spector (thigh) and Akwasi Asante (hamstring) remain sidelined.

David Vaughan is pushing for a return to the Forest squad as they prepare to make the short trip across the midlands.

Vaughan has been out for just over a month with a hamstring injury but the on-loan Sunderland midfielder hopes to be back in the reckoning on Saturday as Billy Davies' side look to record back-to-back away league wins for the first time since mid-March.

Darius Henderson came off the bench during the goalless home draw with Ipswich last weekend but the striker is still not fully fit, while defender Danny Collins (ankle) has this week stepped up his training but the fixture at St Andrew's will probably come too soon for him to be considered.

Collins' central defensive partner Kelvin Wilson continues his recovery from a back injury but will not return to Davies' plans until 2014.
