Birmingham set to be unchanged against Ipswich

Birmingham manager Gary Rowett may well stick with the same team that handsomely beat Derby last weekend.

Should Rowett, who signed a new contract on Thursday, be tempted to make changes, Viv Solomon-Otabor could come into contention along with loan signing Will Buckley.

Blues recruited teenage midfielder Luke Maxwell from Kidderminster this week but he has been loaned back to the non-League side for the rest of the season.

Defender Neal Eardley will miss the remainder of the campaign after damaging knee ligaments while David Cotterill (hamstring) has sat out the last two matches.

Ipswich expect to have captain Luke Chambers (calf), midfielder Cole Skuse (hamstring) and centre-half Christophe Berra (shoulder) all back in the squad.

Town boss Mick McCarthy made sweeping changes for the midweek FA Cup third-round defeat at Portsmouth, so will recall his regulars as the Tractor Boys chase down the play-offs places.

Former Republic of Ireland full-back Kevin Foley could be involved if international clearance comes through following his free-agent move.

Defender Piotr Malarczyk is, though, suspended after his red card in the 2-1 loss at Fratton Park. Forward Daryl Murphy and teenage midfielder Teddy Bishop (both hamstring) continue their rehabilitation.
