Robinson banned for Blues

Birmingham will be without suspended defender Paul Robinson for their home game against Blackburn.

Robinson received his 15th yellow card of the season in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest and starts a three-game ban, missing all of the Blues' forthcoming home games against Rovers, Leeds and Wigan.

Nikola Zigic is likely to resume up front in the absence of Lee Novak, ruled out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury, while midfielder Tom Adeyemi is pushing for a recall.

Birmingham, one point above the relegation zone with a game in hand, are hoping to avoid a third straight defeat.

Blackburn are hopeful Tommy Spurr will recover from a groin injury in time to play.

The defender lasted around half an hour of Friday's goalless draw against relegation-threatened Yeovil with his record of starting every Sky Bet Championship game this season in doubt.

Boss Gary Bowyer told Radio Rovers: "Tommy is sore, he has a groin injury. So we'll see how he goes, we've just got to keep working with him and hopefully he recovers in the next 24 hours."

Midfielders Corry Evans (groin) and David Dunn (calf) made substitute appearances on their return to the squad against the Glovers, with the former replacing Spurr. They could now get the nod to start should Bowyer decide to shuffle his pack.
