Birmingham are poised to make a £2million move for Swedish hotshot Denni Avdic.

Avdic, 22, is regarded as one of the best strikers in the Sweden and has been earning rave reviews for his club side IF Elsborg.

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is keen to strengthen his forward line when the transfer window re-opens in January and has sent scouts to see Avdic in action.

The young striker has already scored 18 goals this season

Meanwhile, McLeish has reassured Seb Larsson that finalising a new pay deal for the Sweden international is top of the Scot's list of priorities.

The midfielder has been an integral part Birmingham City's side since McLeish's arrival three years ago but is out of contract at the end of this season.
