Birmingham striker O'Connor sidelined for several months with hip injury
Birmingham striker Garry O'Connor is facing several months on the sidelines and is set to undergo hip surgery.[LNB]The Scotland international has been restricted to only six starts during the current campaign, the last of which was against Burnley in early October. He is likely to need an operation on his hip.[LNB]'It could keep him out for several months and leaves our striking options light.'[LNB] City's on-loan midfielder Teemu Tainio is also facing a spell out of action with a knee problem which could require surgery.[LNB]The Sunderland player has made only five starts for Blues.[LNB]McLeish admitted: 'Teemu is another player who may need surgery as his knee problem has flared up again.
