Papa Bouba Diop has insisted he is happy at Birmingham and will be at the club 'forever', as his short-term contract comes towards an end.

Diop joined Birmingham in October on a month-long deal that was extended by a further month in November, and the agreement expires this week. Talks have been held about another extension, and the midfielder is keen to stay after settling in well at St Andrew's.

"I am here forever! It is fine. I am here. I don't go anywhere," Diop, who strengthened his case on Saturday with an equalising header against Crystal Palace, told the Birmingham Mail.

"I don't want to talk about my contract. But I am happy here, yes. They are good lads, good staff, everything is good.

"We just need to keep going and make everyone happier, the fans." Diop added:

"When I came to St Andrew's last year with West Ham, it was full. Now, they need to support the team and come back and we need to do well.

"It is possible. In this league anyone can beat anyone. We have a lot of games still. If we win Saturday and win two or three games in a row, we move up the table."
