Benitez focused on task in hand

The Ecuador international striker arrived at St Andrew's in the summer from Mexican side Santos Laguna, initially on loan after a knee problem discovered during his medical meant the deal was renegotiated.[LNB]But Blues have the option to make his switch permanent at the end of the campaign in a club-record transfer potentially worth just under £8million.[LNB]Having also overcome a shoulder problem, Benitez has gone on to become a regular in Alex McLeish's forward line alongside Cameron Jerome, with the pair again expected to lead the line in Sunday's derby with Wolves.[LNB]The pacy 5ft 6in striker may only have two league goals to his name in 21 appearances but, having got to grips with life in the Premier League, he is now focused on helping Birmingham finish as high as possible and not on what may happen to him come May.[LNB]Benitez said: "I'm only thinking about the present, I can't think about the future.[LNB]"I'm here playing for Birmingham and that's what I want to do and that's what I'm concentrating on, to give my best.[LNB]"I've settled in very well, I know it's the best league in the world and I'm very happy to be here.[LNB]"It took me a while to get established but now I think I'm making some progress and I want to do everything I can to do my best for the club."[LNB]The 23-year-old is more commonly known as Chucho and even plays with the nickname on the back of his number 11 shirt.[LNB]Upon arrival in England, it was said that the name - loosely translated as annoying little dog - was in reference to his terrier-like qualities on the pitch.[LNB]But when quizzed about it in his first major interview since coming to Birmingham, a coy Benitez refused to give much away.[LNB]"They've called me Chucho since I was a little boy," he said. "Everybody asks me why but it's a secret.[LNB]"When I arrived in Mexico they kept asking the same thing but I'm not going to say.[LNB]"There was a journalist in Mexico who spent two years asking me the same question and I eventually went without ever answering him."[LNB]Asked whether the translation was correct, he replied: "That's on the internet. You'll have to go to Ecuador and ask my mother."[LNB][LNB] Birmingham 4/5, Draw 12/5, Wolves 4/1
