Benched Phillips feeling the Blues
The veteran striker, who came off the bench to score in last weekend's defeat to Bolton, has made just one start in the Premier League so far this season.
Phillips hopes his goal against Bolton will give Blues boss Alex McLeish food for thought as he is growing increasingly frustrated with a lack of opportunities in the starting XI.
"I want to score goals and I've said how frustrated I am," Phillips told the Daily Mirror.
"I'd like to play more minutes on the pitch, but that's the manager's decision.
"All I can do when I come on is try my hardest and try to score goals and give the manager a bit of a problem and hopefully I've done that."
