Teenager gets his kicks

Teenager Leighton McIntosh scored twice as Montrose earned their first league win of the season with a 3-1 victory against Berwick.

The striker, 19, volleyed home Alan Cambell's nod down after 29 minutes to open the scoring.

Just two minutes later the Gable Endies' advantage was doubled when midfielder David Grey tucked away a penalty after Chris Townsley had brought down Gary Wood inside the area.

Moments before the half-time whistle the visitors got themselves back into the game, as Darren Lavery applied the finish to Kevin McDonald's left-wing free-kick.

Lloyd Young was unlucky not to restore Stuart Garden's side's two-goal advantage after 59 minutes when his header struck the post.

The hosts were eventually able to secure their win in the 77th minute when Steven McNalley crossed for McIntosh to score his second of the afternoon.
