Darren Gribben the goals

Darren Gribben netted a double as Berwick piled further misery on Division Three basement club East Stirling courtesy of a 3-1 victory.

The Shire went into the clash on the back of a miserable start to the campaign, in which they had picked up just three points from their opening 10 games.

And things got worse as Gribben netted either side of Andrew McLean's effort to overshadow Bradley Coyne's 14th-minute goal.

Spurred on by their opponents' strife, Rangers flew out of the blocks and took a seventh-minute lead when Kevin McDonald found Gribben, who slotted home.

The hosts initially showed resilience which belied their league position as Coyne's 20-yard free-kick levelled things up 10 minutes later

But the resistance proved shortlived, with McLean's neat finish restoring the visitors' lead in the 31st minute before Gribben wrapped things up from the penalty spot after Calum Antell fouled Stuart Noble midway through the second period.
