Clyde 2-0 Berwick: Report

15 February 2011 22:19
Rare home win for Clyde Clyde secured their first home win of the season with a deserved 2-0 victory over Berwick. John Stewart's first-half strike gave the hosts the lead before Kevin Finlayson wrapped up the Bully Wee's first win since August. Berwick, who have not registered a win in their last six matches in all competitions, failed to pick up Stewart's run as he tapped in Nicki Paterson's left-wing cross after 13 minutes for his second goal in as many matches. John Grant missed a superb chance to level on the stroke of half-time but his header from six yards cleared the crossbar. In a rare second-half attack, Berwick's Damon Gray tested Bryn Halliwell from 18 yards, but Finlayson made sure of the win with a cool finish from inside the box with just two minutes remaining. Berwick`s Alan Brazil was sent off in the closing stages, but Clyde held on to gain some revenge following three defeats against the Borderers this season.
