Defenders missing for Berwick

Berwick defenders Marc Lancaster and Dene Droudge are their only injury absentees as they host Queen's Park.

The Borderers are targeting a win that will move them to within one point of their visitors in the hunt for a promotion play-off place.

The Shielfield side lost 6-3 to bottom side Stirling Albion last Saturday and the visit of the Spiders is seen as the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

"It is very important for us to get going again quickly after last weekend's disappointment," assistant manager Robbie Horn said. "After slipping out of a play-off place we want to get back into one as soon as possible.

"While winning this game does not acheieve that it gives us a great platform to get there in 2013."

Queen's Park striker Lawrence Shankland has been added to the squad for the trip over the border.

The 17-year-old returned to form with four goals for the Hampden side's reserves in midweek.

Winger Owen Ronald will not be travelling though after leaving the club at his own request earlier this week.

Head coach Gardner Speirs has an otherwise fully-fit and suspension-free squad to choose from.

Speirs said: "Berwick is always a tough place to go and there has been nothing between the sides in the two games already this season.

"We are getting back to the way I want us to play and whilst we are progressing but there is still a bit to go before we hit top form."
