Pair missing for Berwick

Berwick are without injured duo Euan Bald (back) and Steven Notman (knee) as they kick off their League Two campaign at home to Montrose.

The Borderers go into the game on the back of a 3-2 comeback Scottish League Cup win over Championship side Alloa last Saturday.

Player-manager Colin Cameron said: "That performance built on a fine display against St Mirren the week before. We now need to take the confidence from those two games into what is the bread and butter of our league campaign, starting against Montrose.

"It would be great to get the win we need to get our league campaign off to a great start."

Montrose are at full strength as they look for their first goal and first win of the new season following cup defeats to Forfar and Hibs.

Despite their losses, manager Paul Hegarty is upbeat and said: "We went to Easter Road last weekend and did really well for 70 minutes before losing 3-0.

"We stopped them from hurting us for long periods but we know we need to do more offensively to pick up wins in the league.

"Hopefully we can do that starting at Berwick. If we can get a win we would take a lot of confidence back up the road with us."
