Borderers to check on Cameron

Colin Cameron is a doubt for Berwick ahead of the visit of Montrose.

The Borderers' player/manager will undergo a fitness test on a knock to see if he can feature. Dean Hoskins is definitely out as he is suspended while Dougie Brydon is still struggling with a hip problem.

Both clubs will be looking for the win that will help their play-off hopes when they meet at Shielfield, and Cameron said: "We need the three points to start heading back up the way but they will not come easy as Montrose will be saying the exact same thing.

"Last Saturday against Annan was the poorest I have seen us and losing 4-0 was very disappointing. I am expecting a response in this game."

Montrose are without Luke Johnston, signed on loan from Dundee United, due to a groin problem. On-loan Inverness youngster Callum Ferguson is also missing due to a knee injury.

The Gable Endies defeated Albion Rovers 2-1 last weekend with manager Stuart Garden asking his players to show a repeat of the character they did in that game.

He said: "We went a goal down last weekend but bounced back really quickly to make sure we got the three points. We will need to show that same level of inner strength at Berwick.

"It will be another tight game but if we can get a win we are in the mix."
