Montrose men banned for Berwick trip

Berwick will be without midweek matchwinner Lee Currie against Montrose.

Currie, whose 87th-minute goal gave Rangers a 1-0 home win over Stirling, also received a yellow card on Tuesday night so the midfielder must serve a one-game suspension.

Marc Lancaster's back injury and Dene Droudge's knee problem keeps them out, but attacking midfielder Dylan Easton returns after an ankle knock.

Ahead of Saturday's clash, Shielfield manager Ian Little said: "We have taken ourselves to the fringes of the play-off race and this game will be a real test of whether we can push ourselves into the top four.

"We are playing well and kept a clean sheet against Stirling - that was really pleasing. But we are not converting the chances we are making at a very high rate. Hopefully we can do enough to defeat a more than decent Montrose side."

Montrose travel without David Gray and Terry Masson.

The midfield pair are both suspended but Jonathan Crawford will come back into the reckoning after his ban.

Phil McGuire is out with a knee injury and Alan Campbell is struggling with a back problem.

Montrose manager Stuart Garden, whose side have won their last three matches to move up to third place in the table, is looking for revenge on Saturday.

He said: "Berwick came to our place just after new year and left with a 3-1 win and it would be nice to turn the tables.

"They had a very good win in midweek and they will see a win over us as a great step towards challenging for a play-off place.

"Hopefully it will be a good game with the three points going up to Links Park at the end of it."M
