Double injury blow for Rangers

Berwick will be without Graeme Beveridge and Sean Mackie when they meet Elgin at Shielfield.

Beveridge has a thigh problem and on-loan Hibs midfielder Mackie is nursing an ankle injury. Better news for the Borderers is the return of skipper Jonny Fairbairn and Michael McKenna after suspension with manager John Coughlin looking for more from his side despite winning at Edinburgh City in their last outing.

Coughlin said: "We won but we did not play well at all. We were very flat looking and we simply have to play a lot better to take anything from Elgin. They have terrific strikers in their squad and we need to keep them under control."

Elgin are again without Scott Smith who has an ankle injury, with Stuart Black set to start in goal after attempts to stop Inverness Caledonian Thistle from recalling goalkeeper Cammy MacKay from his loan spell at Borough Briggs were unsuccessful.

Manager Jim Weir is looking for a lot better from his side after they went down 6-1 to Falkirk last weekend.

He said: "It was a very, very sore afternoon and a very, very disappointing performance. That has been made clear to the players and there will be changes made as a result.

"We simply cannot give away goals again in the manner we did in that game."
