McCallum poised for Borderers debut

Berwick will hand on-loan Dundee United goalkeeper Marc McCallum his debut in the home clash with Elgin.

McCallum will start in place of Ian McAldon, while Dougie Brydon will also be included in the squad after suspension.

Dene Droudge (knee) and Marc Lancaster (back) remain sidelined, while manager Ian Little is contemplating giving starts to Ross Gray and Fraser McLaren, who scored after coming off the bench against Rangers last week.

The Shielfield boss said: "We have to ensure that we approach this game with the same approach that had at Ibrox.

"I'm in the fortunate place of having to consider both Ross and Fraser as they made a difference when they came on last week.

"Elgin do not appear to be firing on all cylinders at the moment and hopefully we can take advantage."

Elgin will give the versatile Mark Nicolson until close to kick-off time to prove his fitness.

The 24-year-old a doubt due to a dead-leg he sustained against East Stirlingshire last Saturday.

Paul Harkins and Stuart Leslie are definitley missing through suspension and Jamie Duff is also sidelined due to a knee injury.

Borough Briggs boss Ross Jack said: "We're having a disappointing run, but there is no point in panicking.

"We never got over excited when we went 10 games without defeat and there's no point in going overboard just now.

"We have caused our own downfall in recent games by giving away poor goals and if we can cut that out we will do fine."
