Illness hits Berwick

A bug has delayed Berwick Rangers boss Ian Little from naming his side to face visitors East Stirling.

Dean Hoskins, Steve Notman and Fraser McLaren have all been laid low and are rated as doubtful.

On-loan Livingston winger Ross Gray could miss out through injury and with Dene Droudge and Marc Lancaster remaining out with long-term knocks, Little is hoping that his poorly trio can recover in time to play.

"We face Rangers at Ibrox next week and I want us to be going there with a couple of wins behind us and heading towards a play-off spot," he said.

"We have only managed to win two games in a row once this season and after beating Montrose on Wednesday we are half way towards doing it okay."

East Stirling manager John Coughlin will again be missing a quartet of players as he faces his former club.

Nathan Shepherd, Rhys Devlin, Jamie Benton and Craig Donaldson are all ruled out through injury.

Coughlin is looking for his side to be more deadly in attack.

He explained: "When we played Stirling in midweek we had 17 attempts on target but very few of them forced their goalkeeper into making terrific saves and we had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

"We are creating chances but we need to start hitting them towards the goal with more intent.

"Berwick Rangers are always tough opponents on their home ground but so are Queen's Park and we defeated them recently so we can win away."
