Berwick skipper Notman out of action for Arbroath clash

Berwick captain Steven Notman will miss his side's home clash against Ladbrokes Scottish League Two's bottom side Abroath.

Notman has sustained a knee injury and has been ruled out and there is also uncertainty over Ross Drummond's participation.

Colin Cameron's side lost 4-1 at the hands of Kilmarnock in midweek but saw enough to be optimistic about his side's future.

"The final score was harsh on the players who put a lot into the game," he said.

"We are looking to build on the performance not hide away from it. Hopefully we can do that against Arbroath.

"They are keen to get their first points on board and hopefully we will keep them waiting for another week.

Arbroath boss Todd Lumsden is hoping that Graham Hay recovers from a knock to give him a full squad to choose from.

Skipper Mark Whatley could make his first start of the season after recovering from injury and Joao Victoria could be drafted in to lead the line after agreeing a deal this week.

Lumsden said: "We lost last weekend to Queen's Park but our performance was much improved on our two earlier ones.

"If we can use that as a foundation down at Shielfield we will give ourselves the opportunity to get things up and running."
