Double blow for Borderers

Berwick will be without Johnny Fairbairn and Stephen Tulloch against league leaders Arbroath.

Fairbairn is suspended while Tulloch is also absent due to a calf problem.

The Borderers have a Scottish Cup replay with Spartans on Tuesday night with a trip to Hibernian in the next round available as a prize, but player-manager Colin Cameron is not concerning himself with that game at the moment.

He said: "We are determined to climb the table and that is what we are concentrating on at the moment. Arbroath are the leaders and we cannot face them with anything less than 100% effort and concentration.

"We want to climb the table and winning this game would help us do that."

Arbroath, who remain at the summit after Albion lost their last two games, have a doubt over Simon Murray (groin) while similar problems ruled out Kevin Nicoll and Scott McBride. However, Craig Johnstone returns after injury.

The Gayfield squad is also boosted by the return of Ryan McGeever and Thomas Grant, who missed out on the 3-1 Scottish Cup defeat from Hibs as they were cup-tied.

Arbroath manager Allan Moore said: "We may have lost at Easter Road but I was pleased with our performance against a strong full-time side. If we can play like that again I reckon that we can win at Berwick."
