Berwick defender Jordan McGregor missing for Annan visit following red card

Berwick Rangers must do without suspended defender Jordan McGregor against Annan after he was sent off during the 2-1 defeat to Stirling on Saturday.

Better news is the return of Jonny Fairbairn after a two-game ban and the availability of on-loan striker Sandy Cunningham, who was not allowed to feature against his parent club at Forthbank.

Manager John Coughlin, whose side prop up the table after picking up just one point from their last four matches, said: "We have put ourselves into this position and it is up to ourselves to get out of it. We are playing well in patches but need to defend leads better.

"We have let three slip out of our hands in the last two games."

Fifth-placed Annan will be without recent signing Ben Jago, who is banned following his sending off in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Montrose.

Hamstring injuries rule out Steven Swinglehurst and Steven Black, while an ankle problem keeps Peter Weatherson sidelined. However, Jack Breslin could return after a foot knock.

Manager Jim Chapman said: "I am looking for consistency from my side. We have hit great heights with our win over Hamilton in the Scottish Cup and then League Two leaders Elgin, however at other times we have disappointed.

"On Saturday we showed both sides of our game as we did well to be winning 3-1 late on but never saw things out."
