Rangers topple league leaders

Berwick Rangers came from behind to record an impressive 3-1 win over table-toppers Arbroath at Shielfield Park.

Rangers midfielder Paul Willis created the first chance of the match when his looping header was tipped away by goalkeeper Marc McCallum.

Willis then saw his shot from the edge of the area smack against post as the first half ended goalless.

The visitors took the lead largely against the run of play when Thomas Grant slid his effort under goalkeeper William Bald on 63 minutes.

However, Berwick fought back through midfielder Lee Currie whose deflected long-range strike wrong-footed a helpless McCallum after 66 minutes.

Willis added a second six minutes later when he slotted in fellow midfielder Ross Gray's squared pass after a flowing move.

Arbroath pushed for an equaliser but were undone by a swift Rangers counter attack late on when Andrew Russell rounded McCallum for a simple tap-in.
