Annan hit back for point

Annan hit back from two goals down to earn a point in a 2-2 draw at Berwick and halt a three-game losing streak.

Andrew Russell had given Berwick a two-goal cushion with strikes either side of half-time, but Annan hit back through Josh Todd and substitute Junior Ogen.

Berwick defender Kerr Young went close to breaking the deadlock in the 32nd minute, but his angled drive was superbly saved by Annan goalkeeper Jordan Hart.

Berwick broke the deadlock in the fourth minute of time added on at the end of the first half. Darren Lavery supplied the pass on the right side of the penalty area and Russell drilled a low shot into the bottom corner.

Russell struck his second with a close-range finish in the 51st minute, but Annan pulled one back within 60 seconds when Peter Weatherson played in Todd and the midfielder converted.

The visitors then drew level through substitute striker Ogen, who headed home Ryan McStay's cross in the 77th minute.
