Forfar hit League Two top spot with win at Berwick

Forfar moved top of Scottish League Two as they continued their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Berwick at Shielfield Park.

Summer signing Lewis Milne netted his second goal for the visitors as he collected Jamie Bain's pass and curled the ball past home goalkeeper Kevin Walker and into the top corner after just 10 minutes.

Jordyn Sheerin went close to equalising with a number of chances but his first effort was saved in the bottom corner by Grant Adam before he hit the woodwork, and Grant again denied the striker midway through the first half before Steven Thomson's header was kept out.

Despite their attempts to come back into the game, Berwick fell further behind as home defender Lee Hamilton headed the ball into the path of Josh Peters and it deflected in to make it 2-0 after 53 minutes.

Berwick finally got the goal they had fought so hard for as Sheerin smashed Allan Walker's uncleared free-kick into the away goal to reduce the deficit just after the hour mark. But the home side lost Michael McKenna to a second yellow card for dissent after a late tackle in the closing stages.
