Borderers come up trumps

Berwick ended the season on a high by recording a 1-0 victory over play-off bound Stranraer.

The Borderers have now won three of the final four at home, hitting 12 goals in the process, and have Danny Handling's 70th minute strike to thank for this latest success.

Stuart Noble picked up the ball in the penalty area before laying-on for Handling who coolly slotted into the corner from 12-yards.

But the season ended on a sour note for Berwick's Ben Miller when he was dismissed for a second bookable offence with just six minutes remaining.

Stranraer will now head into the play-offs on the back of five straight defeats and the result could have been worse but for goalkeeper David Mitchell's save from Kevin McDonald's 37th-minute penalty.
