Point puts Annan in the play-offs
Annan moved into the Division Three play-off places despite being held to a 1-1 draw by mid-table Berwick at the Galabank Stadium.
Bryan Gilfillan, David Cox and Chris Jardine all had good chances to put the home side in front before the Black and Golds finally seized the advantage in the 35th minute through Kevin Neilson.
The big defender rose highest inside the penalty area to nod Jardine's outswinging corner past Mark Peat and into the top corner.
Gilfillan almost doubled the lead just six minutes later but his ferocious volley from 30 yards bounced back off the crossbar.
Berwick substitute Darren Gribben earned his side a point in the 74th minute when he found the bottom corner with a low drive from 18 yards.
