Alloa 0-1 Berwick: Report

Gray day for Alloa

Damon Gray's penalty ended Alloa's 15-match unbeaten run as Berwick earned a surprise 1-0 win at Recreation Park.

The hosts had won seven straight league games coming into the fixture and looked the likeliest to opening the scoring, Ryan McCord crashing a right-foot volley against the crossbar from the edge of the area six minutes before the break.

But it was Ian Little's side who broke the deadlock after 59 minutes when Gray was fouled by Ben Gordon inside the area. He stepped up to place the ball in the back of the net - his seventh goal of the season.

Berwick midfielder Steven Notman was dismissed for a second bookable offence seven minutes from time but the Borderers were able to hold out to secure their first win in seven games.
