In every World Cup there are teams that are tipped to fare better than others. In the 2014 edition of the tournament , hosts Brazil , defending champions Spain , the incredibly balanced Germany, and the team with the best attack- Argentina have been marked as favourites .However in the 2006 world cup, Italy in spite of being an underdog lifted the trophy. Here are two teams that can turn out to be giant killers this time around:

Belgium: With an immensely talented and balanced squad the Belgian national team could well leave its mark in the upcoming tournament. Their crop of world-class youngsters, such as Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois have proven themselves in top European leagues. The team also boasts having stars like Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen and Manchester United youth sensation Adnan Janujaz.

Colombia: Jose Pekerman’s side finished second in the CONMEBOL qualifying zone, only two points behind Argentina and have since shown that they can compete with Europe’s best, as they beat Belgium 2-0 and earned a credible draw with Netherlands in friendly encounters. The team consists of match winners like Radamael Falcao , Jackson Martinez , Freddy Guarin and James Rodriguez . A lot of Colombia’s chances will depend on whether Radamael Falcao returns to full fitness in the final stages of the tournament.
