Not even hattricks from both Stankovic and Schirinzi could prevent Portugal from beating Switzerland 10-6, to stay on top of the Minehead Division A pool with maximum points. As easy the Lusitanians cruised to comfortable 5-0 lead in the first period, with goals by usual suspects Madjer (2), Belchior, Alan and pocket striker Jose Maria, as much they had to pull out all the stops in the last two chapters to overcome the brave Swiss and emerge victorious. Stankovic and Schirinzi managed to get their side back on track racing back to a 6-5 deficit, but were unable to undo a Sousa bullet and another two Jose Maria and Alan doubles. Tomorrow Portugal will face Eric Cantona’s France to clinch top spot in Minehead and to be in pole position to reach the Vila Real de Santo Antonio Superfinal.
