Van Gaal told to delegate

Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has been told he must delegate more effectively if he is to be a success at the Allianz Arena.

Van Gaal has found himself under increasing pressure at the Bavarian giants despite only taking the reins in the summer.

That has led to both general manager Uli Hoeness and president Franz Beckenbauer offering advice to the experienced former Barcelona, Ajax and Netherlands coach.

Hoeness said: "Louis van Gaal has the opinion that he has to sort out everything himself. But one single person can't do everything.

"Louis is also still surprised by the power which is behind FC Bayern. The secret is probably that all parties have to recognise that they have to cooperage. The coaches, the board, the medical staff etc."

Beckenbauer added: "He has to learn to delegate trust and responsibility."
