Van Gaal recruits Jonker

Louis van Gaal has persuaded Andries Jonker to join him at Bayern Munich next season.

The 46-year-old will leave Willem II in the summer, having stepped up to the position of sporting director with the Dutch club earlier this season.

A statement for the Eredivisie outfit confirmed: "Louis van Gaal has asked Andries Jonker to become his assistant at Bayern Munich.

"Andries Jonker has asked the Willem II board to terminate his contract, which ran for another two years as of July 1 2009.

"The board has agreed and both they and Mr Jonker are satisfied with the end result.

"Willem II would like to thank Andries Jonker for his efforts during the last three years. We wish him lots of success at his new club."
