Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel has welcomed reports linking him with a return to former club PSV Eindhoven.

The 31-year-old Dutchman is out of contract at the Allianz Arena at the end of the current season and has never hidden his desire to end his career back at Eindhoven.

Van Bommel spent six seasons with the Eredivisie side before joining Barcelona in 2005.

"It delights me that PSV are interested," admitted the midfielder.

"I played there for six years and that means they were satisfied with me, that they see in me a player who can help the team.

"It's now a question of waiting and seeing how everything develops.

"But I have a talk with Bayern Munich next month and after that my future should be a lot clearer.

"Until then, it's all speculation."
