Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel is set to miss his side's next few games after picking up a foot injury during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim. He was admitted to hospital in Munich and could spend a spell on the sidelines after a scan proved inconclusive. New coach Louis van Gaal was already short of Martin Demichelis, Franck Ribery and Luca Toni for the Bundesliga opener. Nevertheless, the Dutch coach was satisfied with the draw. Speaking to reporters, van Gaal said: "The team forgot to play football in the first half. "We did not adjust to the situation and that was unprofessional. "We were good in the second half, though. After the game, I had the feeling that we even should have won. "We had chances but did not take them."
