Van Bommel eyes Bayern deal

Captain Mark van Bommel has urged Bayern Munich to offer him a new contract.

The Netherlands international is out of contract at the Allianz Arena at the end of the current season but has welcomed reports that the Bundesliga giants are preparing to offer him fresh terms.

"I have heard that negotiations will take place during our training camp in Dubai," said the 32-year-old midfielder.

"There are many contracts running out so I am curious to see what happens.

"I still feel like I am at home in Munich. I had the opportunity to move last season on better conditions and with a longer term, but it is hard to turn your back on FC Bayern.

"You know what you have got here. I could have earned more money elsewhere, but the important thing is the club you represented when you retire."
