Toni sorry over Schalke exit

Bayern Munich's Italian striker Luca Toni has apologised for storming out of the Allianz Arena at half-time of the 1-1 draw with Schalke last weekend. The 32-year-old frontman was angered at being replaced after 45 minutes by coach Louis van Gaal, but now accepts that he was wrong to show his disappointment in such a strong fashion. He told the club's official website: "After what happened on Saturday during the match against Schalke, I'd like to reaffirm my apologies to my team-mates, to the club and to all the fans. "My impulsive and wrong behaviour last Saturday has no record in my professional career. "This kind of reaction was the consequence of four long months of inconveniences and misunderstandings with the present coach." Toni has failed to find the net in four Bundesliga outings so far this season.
