Striker asks for Bayern exit

Unsettled forward Jan Schlaudraff has handed in a transfer request at Bayern Munich.

Schlaudraff, 24, has made just a handful of appearances since joining the current Bundesliga leaders from Alemannia Aachen last summer.

The striker is behind the likes of Luca Toni, Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski in the pecking order and is keen to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.

"Jan has asked us for a transfer and we have agreed to his request," revealed Bayern sporting director Uli Hoeness.

Schlaudraff, who has been linked with Hamburg, added: "I asked about my prospects at the club. It was said there weren't any so therefore I said that I want to go.

"There are a number of enquiries and one concrete offer from the Bundesliga.

"I will see what pans out, but it would be good if the whole thing could be sorted out quickly."
