Sick Klose to miss game

Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose has been forced out of Germany's friendly international against Ivory Coast on Wednesday as a precautionary measure.

The forward, who has scored 43 goals in 93 appearances for his country, will remain at home as his children remain in quarantine in Munich because of swine flu.

This will allow coach Joachim Low to look at alternatives for the clash in Gelsenkirchen.

Speaking to reporters, DFB media director Harald Stenger said: "We want to point out that Miroslav has shown none of the symptoms associated with swine flu.

"In order to minimalise the risk of spreading the influenza, we decided that Miroslav should stay at home."
