Roma have been priced out of a move to bring Italy striker Luca Toni back to Serie A from Bayern Munich, according to the player's agent.
The 32-year-old hitman is likely to leave the German giants before the transfer window shuts, but he is unlikely to be heading to the Eternal City.
Jose Alberti told Romagiallorossa.com: "Will Roma land Toni? Absolutely not.
"The only way a deal could have taken off was if the player had accepted a pay cut.
"His pay packet of four million euros per season poses a limit to Roma and I have received confirmation that he will only move for that money."
Toni has netted more than 50 goals in two seasons at the Allianz Arena, having joined Bayern from Fiorentina in the summer of 2007.
