Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has returned to full training and is expected to make his first appearance of the season later this month.
The 25-year-old France international has been sidelined since June when he damaged ankle ligaments during his country's Euro 2008 defeat to Italy.
Ribery has been forced to endure two operations on the problem but should be ready for a first-team return before the Champions League clash with Lyon on 30 September.
Bayern boss Jurgen Klinsmann said: "We are working on Franck every day. He is gaining momentum every day and feeling much more confident."
