Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann has vowed to keep Lukas Podolski at the club and bring out the best in the Germany striker.
The 23-year-old has been continually linked with a return to former club Koln, but Kilnsmann is adamant that Podolski's best interests will be served by him staying at the Allianz Arena.
He told the TZ newspaper: "He will stay with Bayern, I have a personal interest in his development.
"Because I was in charge of him for two very intense years with the national team, I know his qualities, but I also know his weak points.
"What I want to develop is his consistency - in his work, in his achievements and in his general play.
"He is still in the development phase and these problems will not just go away if he changes club. At this club, we can work with him and take him to the next level.
"We know he has come a long way in recent years and he should be proud of what he has achieved, but Lukas is not yet as good as he can be."
