Nerlinger hails Bayern win

General manager Christian Nerlinger was full of praise for Bayern Munich's players after they secured a stunning 4-1 win away to Juventus to qualify for the knockout stages in the Champions League.

Bayern roared back from a goal down in Turin to secure a crucial victory, with the German giants going through to the last 16 at the expense of their Italian rivals.

Nerlinger told the club's official website: "We've taken a huge step forward. Making the next stage in the Champions League is extremely important to the club.

"We've fought our way back in the Bundesliga too. If we now beat Bochum and Hertha, we'll be able to look back on a very decent first half of the season.

"Even I was surprised by our total dominance, we played Juventus off the pitch right from the start and kept making chances. It was classy stuff from all of our players."
