Lell to make swift comeback

Bayern Munich full-back Christian Lell is close to making a quicker than expected return to action just three weeks after suffering a calf strain.

Lell was expected to be out of action until at least the end of October after limping out of the 1-0 Bundesliga defeat to Hannover on September 27.

But the attacking full-back is now on the verge of resuming full training, although he will not be risked against Karlsruhe on Saturday.

"He is on the verge of making his comeback to the team," confirmed coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

"I think that he'll be back training with us latest on Friday."
