Klinsmann targets top spot

Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann has set his sights on top spot in the Bundesliga following Sunday's 2-1 victory over title rivals Schalke.

The resurgent champions moved to within just one point of leaders Bayern Leverkusen after first-half goals from Luca Toni and Franck Ribery secured the points at Arena AufSchalke.

"We're very satisfied with the fact that we are driving home with all three points," said Klinsmann.

"Schalke really piled on the pressure in the first half and I had to shuffle things around as a result.

"After that we were much more compact and that gave us more of a sense of security.

"We want to get on the field again in order to take over top spot as quickly as possible.

"If the points keep coming it's only a matter of time until that happens."
