Klinsmann: Bayern hitting form

Coach Jurgen Klinsmann has urged his Bayern Munich side to maintain their recent upturn in form, after they secured a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

A comprehensive 3-0 home win over Steaua Bucharest sealed Bayern's passage from Group F, with Klinsmann confident that his side are starting to near top form after a difficult few weeks.

He commented: "Obviously we're very happy about reaching the round of 16 with a game to spare. We're pleased with the way we played and the pace we set.

"We have performed excellently in recent weeks so we look ahead with confidence. We're as good as anybody in the Champions League.

"Your chances in the last 16 are always 50-50 and we are looking forward to those games with a lot of faith in our abilities.

"Now we can dedicate ourselves to the tasks ahead with real confidence and self-belief."
